John XXIII on Intent

John XXIII on Intent

Pope John XXIII was one of Roman Catholicism’s most beloved and controversial leaders. He was old at the time of his elevation to Pope, and his papacy lasted for only five years or so. He was, however, a large figure in the Church’s modern history. Unlike most Popes, he joked about his being the Pope. He was also reform-minded. Of his many quotes,  one is particularly applicable to leaders of all kinds of organizations, including those in today’s Roman Catholic Church:

“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.”

  1. Lovely keeper. Thanks John XXIV. E.
