Health Care Reform
For hot-off-the-press blog summaries and updates of the just passed health care reform legislation’s impact on employers, check out the following: HR Hero, Daniel Schwartz, Manpower Employment Blawg, Jon Hyman, and Execupundit. The truth is that we won’t know exactly what it means until the Senate takes further action and until some time has passed.
While I think reform is needed, given what has happened in Congress for months now (with all the sausage making, front- and back-door deals, parsing of language, and such), I’m not sure anyone can say with too much authority what we’ve ended up with. It is probably fair to say that it’s historic. I’m not inclined to pay attention to the extreme descriptions of this legislation, no matter which side they come from. I’m more inclined to search for the unvarnished truth and to predict what it will mean for employers and employees.
