Supreme Court Heads Back to Guns
Little more than a year after it decided District of Columbia v. Heller, in which the Supreme Court found that the Second Amendment applies to individuals, the Court has taken another case to clear up whether the Second Amendment applies only to federal gun restrictions or also to state and local restrictions. As previously noted on this blog, state legislatures are considering and sometimes passing gun laws left and right. Are these laws subject to the Second Amendment? The Court will tell us next year. Any such case is significant for employers because it can possibly impact an employer’s policy on guns in the workplace. Stay tuned.
