Berlioz on the Meaning of Time

Hector Berlioz was a 19th century French composer. He was also an occasional conductor and preferred big performances, sometimes conducting as many as 1,000 musicians at a time. Aside from his musical talents, he could turn a phrase that would make one think twice.

“Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.”
