Sotomayor’s Opening Statement
Yesterday began the long-awaited Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to be an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Most of the day was comprised on members of the Committee making speeches. In the afternoon, Sotomayor was finally allowed to speak. She gave a short opening statement which you can see below:
