Advanced Employment Issues Symposium
M. Lee Smith Publishers offers each year the the Advanced Employment Issues Symposium (click here), one of the premier national conferences for human resources professionals and in-house counsel. This year marks the 14th AEIS, and I again have the pleasure of serving as the event’s moderator.
AEIS will be held in Nashville on September 17-18 and Las Vegas on October 29-30. You can still take advantage of the early bird registration by going to the AEIS website or calling 800-274-6774.
We’ll kick things off this year with a look at the labor and employment law landscape that exists as a result of having a new administration in the White House, a new Congress on Capitol Hill, and more labor and employment proposals in the pipeline than we’ve seen in decades. There will be three specialty tracks this year: one on union avoidance, a second on wage and hour issues, and a third on FMLA challenges and compliance.
This year’s AEIS will also focus on employer liability that can result from social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, new discrimination issues, recruiting and termination issues, trade secrets, health care reform, immigration compliance, and much more. A comprehensive handbook covering all topics will be given to each person attending.
Once again this year, we’ll have about 25 presenters with literally hundreds of years of combined employment law and human resources experience. Finding that much knowledge and experience in one place is unique. If you like country music, casinos and shows and bright lights, or just the most in-depth employment law/HR update you can find, join us.
