Economic Crisis Results in Gender Equity

Well, sort of, but not really. According to the Columbus Dispatch. layoffs have hit male dominated industries the hardest. Consequently, women now comprise almost 50% of the workforce.

Women still make up a small percentage of executives. It also continues to be routinely reported that a female employee makes, on average, about 78 cents for every dollar made by a male employee.

Meanwhile, male employees who’ve been hit hard by layoffs in the male dominated industries are talking to lawyers about sex discrimination lawsuits against their former employers. Good luck, boys.
