Health Care Reform — Secretary of Health and Human Services Nominee
Tom Daschle has been nominated by President-elect Obama to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services. Daschle, who represented South Dakota in the U.S. Senate for a number of years, is no stranger to politics. He also has some well-known ideas about health care and its reform.
In early 2008, a book on the subject written by Daschle was published. So, anyone wanting to know what the likely Secretary of HHS thinks about it all can pretty easily find out. The book is titled Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis. Given the importance of the cost of health insurance to all employers and the Obama administration’s intent to make health care reform a priority, Daschle’s book is a must-read for HR professionals.
To get you started, check out an excellent review of the book written by Wendi Watts, Web content specialist for M. Lee Smith Publishers and editor of HR Hero LIne. Wendi has been a big help to me with this blog, and you’ll find her review to be a big help to you in getting you into Daschle’s book.
