Edison on Work–Part II

As noted last week, Thomas Edison had keen insight into the meaning of work.  Over his desk, he placed a placard with Sir Joshua Reynolds’ well-known quote, which was also placed througout Edison’s Menlo Park research laboratory, becoming a slogan of sorts for this facility:

“There is no expedient to which a man will not resort to avoid the real labor of thinking.”
