Houdini on Trust

As all the talk continues about change and the meaning of change, some have wondered whether we’re talking about change with a touch of realism or change with a touch of magic.  That made me think we needed a quote from a magician.  Who better to quote than Harry Houdini?  In this quote, Houdini speaks of magic, but he also speaks of something important to employers and human resources.  You could say he’s talking about loyalty or integrity; I’ve chosen to say he’s talking about trust.  Just as Houdini’s form of magic is fading, the substance of Houdini’s quote, as applied to the workplace, is also fading.

“In the many years that I have been before the public, my secret methods have been steadily shielded by the strict integrity of my assistants, most of whom have been with me for years.”
