Disabilities and Inspiration
The Americans with Disabilities Act was enacted to give individuals with disabilities a level playing field in the workplace. With all the discussion about court cases, the meaning of “disability,” whether a reasonable accommodation exists, etc., it’s easy to forget that disabled employees perform important jobs and provide inspiration for any workforce.
Such inspiration is found on a real playing field and provided by someone too young to be employed in most workplaces. There’s no question that he has a disability, that a number of reasonable accommodations probably exist, and that one day, he’s likely to do great things. Check out this story.
