More on Going Green
Yesterday’s post titled “CSR and Going Green” barely rubbed the surface of a complicated, controversial, scarry subject. As I noted in the post, issues about global warning and climate change are beginning to involve employers and necessarily human resources.
Last night, I had the good fortune to read an article by Michael Spector in a recent New Yorker, which does much more than touch the surface of this subject. Although not written from an HR standpoint, the article does discuss increasing corporate involvement in the effort to solve the issues touched on in my post. Spector’s article (which, like any good New Yorker article, is lengthy) deals with the subject of global warming, climate change, and related issues in a balanced, informative, and innovative way. I couldn’t put it down until I was finished, which is saying a lot for a lengthy article on this subject.
Given the involvement of a growing number of employers in wrestling with what some call the most critical issues of our time, I recommend that you read this article. It’ll give you a leg up. Click here.
