Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)–HR Song of the Week
Woody Guthrie wrote this song after he heard a news report about the crash of a plane carrying Mexican migrant workers, in which the event was downplayed as just an accident involving some deportees. It’s a song that’s quite current in light of the ongoing immigration debate, and it’s sung on this YouTube clip by the striking duo of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez.
