Anthony on “We, the People”

With a presidential election like the one we have this year, there are certain people you wish could be here to witness it and to speak about it.  One of those people has to be Susan B. Anthony.  She gets most of the credit for giving birth to the women’s rights movement at a time when women’s rights were hard to come by.  I suspect she’d have a lot to say this year–perhaps something like she said back when she was alive and stirring the pot.

“It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; not yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union.”
