New Year’s Resolutions
Have you made them yet? A lot of us have or will. We’ll keep some but not others.
There’s an interesting article in Slate Magazine titled “Rationalizing Resolutions,” which takes a look at this subject from an economist’s point of view. Bottom line? Your best chance at keeping resolutions is to put some of your own money on the line. It seems to me that this theory could have applicability to the workplace in terms of providing incentives to employees to keep resolutions that help them and their employer. Check out the article and see if it gives you any ’08 food for thought.
