Religion, Travel and the Holidays
Previous posts have covered religious discrimination and legal issues during the holidays (which include religion issues). A recent article in the Times covers how business travel, particularly during religious holidays, can cause problems for employees and, thus, their employers. Remember the obligation that employers have to provide employees reasonable accomadations for their religious beliefs. (See the Tip of the Week for December 10.) Issues involving religious accomodations will become more significant as our global economy becomes more global and our workplaces become increasingly diverse.
